Gore

Released on 8 April 2016 through Reprise Records, Gore is Deftones' eighth studio album. Recorded between 2014 and 2015 at Megawatt Recording in California, it was produced by Matt Hyde and Deftones, marking the band's first album with Hyde after two collaborations with Nick Raskulinecz. Continuing the adventurous spirit of Koi No Yokan, the album further explored atmospheric textures, experimental songwriting and contrasting dynamics. Its creation was also marked by differing creative approaches within the band, particularly between Chino Moreno and Stephen Carpenter. The album also features a guest guitar solo by Jerry Cantrell on Phantom Bride.

Supported by the singles Prayers / Triangles, Doomed User, Hearts / Wires and Phantom Bride, Gore received widespread critical acclaim and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, matching the No. 2 peak of Deftones' self-titled album in 2003.
