Overview
Released on 4 May 2010 through Reprise Records, Diamond Eyes is Deftones' sixth studio album. Recorded during 2009 with producer Nick Raskulinecz, it was created after the band shelved the unfinished Eros sessions following Chi Cheng's devastating car accident in 2008. Featuring Sergio Vega on bass for his first studio album with Deftones, the record marked a creative rebirth for the band, embracing a more focused, energetic and optimistic direction while preserving the atmospheric identity established on White Pony.
Supported by the singles Diamond Eyes, Rocket Skates, You've Seen the Butcher and Sextape, the album received widespread critical acclaim and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, becoming Deftones' highest-charting release since their self-titled album.
